Relocation · Ohio

A new chapter is calling. Don't let the old house hold the phone.

A new job, a family need, a fresh start — sometimes life moves faster than a traditional home sale allows. We help Ohio families relocate without the long-distance burden: no repairs, no staging, no flying back for showings, and a closing that happens on your schedule, from wherever you are.

Talk Through My Move — Free
Moving is consistently ranked among life's most stressful events — even the happy moves. The house you're leaving shouldn't add to it.

How it works

The simplest version of selling before a move

1

One conversation, one visit

Tell us about the house and your moving date. One walkthrough — not months of showings — and you'll have our as-is offer with the math shown.

2

Pick the date that fits the move

Close before you leave, or after you're settled. Need to sell now but move later? We can often arrange for you to stay in the home past closing.

3

Take what you want. Leave the rest.

The moving truck takes what matters. Everything else — furniture, the garage, the basement — stays behind, and we handle it. Closing can happen remotely if you've already gone.

Every option for the house you're leaving

List it before you go

If you have a few months of lead time and the house is market-ready, a traditional listing usually nets the most. The risk: carrying two housing payments if it doesn't sell before the move.

Rent it out from afar

Long-distance landlording works with a good property manager (expect roughly a month's rent per year in fees). Worth considering if the home is in great shape and you may return.

Check your relocation package

If an employer is moving you, ask HR what's covered — some packages include home-sale assistance or buyout programs. Use every dollar they offer.

Sell to us, as-is

The certainty option: a firm offer, your closing date, no repairs or showings, leave what you can't take, and close remotely if needed. No financing fall-throughs three days before the moving truck arrives.

Where we fit

How Selah Partners helps — for free

We'll lay out the honest math on all four paths — listing, renting, relocation benefits, and selling to us — including what each one costs you in time, money, and trips back to Ohio. If listing makes more sense for your timeline, we'll tell you that. If certainty matters more, we'll buy as-is and build the closing around your moving date, not the other way around.

Common questions

Relocation questions, answered honestly

We've already moved and the house is sitting empty. Is that a problem?

It's common — and worth resolving soon. Empty houses drain money (utilities, insurance, lawn, winterizing) and attract problems. We can handle everything remotely from here: one trusted local contact, a firm offer, and a remote closing.

Can we really close from another state?

Yes. Mobile notaries and mail-away closings make it routine. Plenty of our conversations happen entirely by phone and video with sellers who are already in their new city.

The new job starts in three weeks. Is that enough time?

Usually, yes — and if the closing can't beat your start date, it doesn't need to. You can move when the job requires and close after, remotely. The timeline bends around your life.

What about everything we can't fit in the truck?

Leave it. Furniture, tools, the boxes in the attic — take what matters and we genuinely handle the rest, donating usable items where we can.
